Drakes Hold Off Leprechauns 11-10

May 25 2024 The Marysville Drakes defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 11-10 at Bryant Field in a high-scoring game. Marysville collected 17 hits and scored in four innings, while Dublin finished with nine hits and two errors.

Marysville took an early lead with one run in the first inning and added three in the fourth. Dublin answered with five runs in the fifth, but the Drakes scored three in the bottom half to take a 7-5 lead. Dublin tied the game with two runs in the seventh before Marysville broke ahead with four runs in the eighth. The Leprechauns scored three times in the ninth but could not complete the comeback.

Dublin catcher D. Gardiner went 3-for-6 with five RBI and hit the game’s only home run. M. Sonn added two hits and two RBI. For Marysville, D. Leslie went 3-for-5, while S. Connolly, J. Starick, T. Latham, C. Cook and C. Harmond each recorded two hits. M. Vochelli drove in three runs, and C. Harmond had two RBI.

Marysville reliever B. Krolikowski earned the win after pitching a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts. M. Vochelli allowed five runs in 4.2 innings, and D. Stimpson worked 2.1 innings. Dublin starter T. Gibbs allowed four runs three earned on eight hits in four innings, while T. Fonoti was charged with the loss despite pitching a scoreless inning.
