Drakes and Pacifics Play to 6-6 Tie

July 23 2024 The Marysville Drakes and San Rafael Pacifics finished in a 6-6 tie at Albert Park. Neither team won, despite the box score listing Marysville’s Garrett Mos as the winning pitcher and San Rafael’s Caleb Davis as the losing pitcher. Marysville collected six hits and committed two errors, while San Rafael had eight hits and five errors.

Marysville scored four runs in the second inning, then added one in the fourth and one in the sixth. Jumpei Ohashi went 2-for-5 with three runs scored, one RBI and a stolen base. Anders Green also had two hits with a run and an RBI, while Micah Walker went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Joe Starick reached base three times with two walks and a run scored.

San Rafael answered with two runs in the second, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the eighth. Nick Smith drove in three runs and went 2-for-3, while Braxton King was 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Esai Santos and John Bicos each added an RBI. No home runs were listed in the box score.

Rodrigo Sanchez struck out nine while allowing five earned runs on six hits over six innings for Marysville. Mos followed with three innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out three. San Rafael starter Jayson Summers worked five innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on four hits with eight walks and six strikeouts. Davis took the listed loss after allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits in 4.1 innings, while Marcus Watkins recorded the final out without allowing a hit or run.
